Files processed in your browser

Most PDF, image, text, developer and calculator tools run entirely inside your browser. For these tools your file or input is never uploaded to our servers. Each tool page states whether it runs locally.

Files processed on our servers

A smaller number of tools need server-side software. For these, files are sent over an encrypted connection to a temporary workspace on our server. They are deleted when you download the result, immediately if processing fails, or by an automatic cleanup that runs every ten minutes and removes jobs older than one hour (the default setting), whichever comes first.

Third-party processors

Office conversions (PDF to Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF) are performed by CloudConvert, a third-party conversion service. We ask CloudConvert to delete the job as soon as the conversion finishes, and its own terms and retention rules apply to what it handles. AI tools (Summarize PDF, Ask AI About a PDF, Translate PDF and AI Resume Review) send the text of your document to Google's Gemini API, whose own data-use terms apply. We send data to these providers only to deliver your result.

What we don't do

We do not permanently store your uploaded files by default, and we do not sell your files or their contents.

Analytics

We collect minimal, aggregated usage events, such as which tool was used and whether processing succeeded, to improve the product. We do not collect unnecessary personal information.

Cookies

Basic storage may be used for essential site functionality such as remembering your theme. Any analytics or advertising cookies will be disclosed here as they are introduced.
